Make the most of your investment in trade show banners.
The classic adage ‘penny wise and pound foolish’ can be applied in the world of trade show exhibits in several ways, even to trade show banners themselves. The first point to make is how frequently vendors will offer a cheaper priced retractable banner stand with a catch – a low quality graphic that will not stand the test of time. What good is saving $50 if you have to spend $80 more next year to replace the banner because it’s torn or just looks ragged?
We insist that our customers use only premium quality or better grade material in their trade show banners, whether they are table-top banner stands the size of a letter page, or monster 12 foot wide custom trade show banners. Do not get sucked into what looks like a discount price to find out it’s low quality material. Doing some research recently, we found a vendor selling a particular common banner stand at a retail price of $180-200, which they listed at $99. However, the order page said ‘upgrade to no-curl vinyl $60 (recommended)’. That’s bait and switch. Avoid that type of vendor. They don’t have their customers best interest in mind.
Once you’ve found a reliable vendor that will get you more value for your trade show dollar, you may still have a multi-thousand dollar investment. Make sure to get the best value before you buy, mostly by getting the appropriate grade quality for the expected life of the banners. If you plan to use them once, maybe the paper banner is the best route, but in most cases you will want longevity. This allows you to use them 100’s of times, but more importantly, after the 10th or 20th use, they will still look brand new.
Once you have the trade show banners, protect your investment with some quality cases for shipping and storage. It’s a very reasonable form of ‘insurance’ against loosing tremendous value, not just in the replacement cost should they get destroyed, but to keep your brand that is being presented by them looking pristine like the day they were bought.
