And The Number One Trade Show Destination Is…

Las Vegas, Nevada is the #1 Trade Show Destination.

The city held 55 of the top 250 trade shows for 2011 as ranked by the Trade Show News Network.  That’s not all though, last year Vegas also hosted 7 of the 10 largest trade shows as determined by total square footage including the ever popular Consumer Electronics Association’s International CES.

The city offers so much, so easily, and for such a low price when compared with other locations that it’s fairly easy to understand why a variety of different businesses and industries would want to hold their annual trade shows in Las Vegas.  They’ve also got ample event facilities, including the Las Vegas Convention Center.  So no matter what type and size of show, there’s probably the ideal venue available in Vegas.

In fact, a few weeks ago we reported on a trade show (Blog World and New Media West) that moved it’s facilities from Las Vegas to California for their 2012 show.  But, after attendees and vendors alike requested a return to Vegas, it was announced that for their show in January 2013 they’ll be back in “Sin City”.

The Trade Show News Network also states that not only did Vegas attract the most shows and the biggest shows, they also had a number of trade shows that experienced “impressive growth” in the size and attendance of their events.  This means there were both more visitors and more trade show displays to enjoy at these shows.  During a time when everyone is questioning the value of attending and exhibiting at trade shows, this is great news for Vegas, Nevada, and the trade show industry as a whole too!

Other standouts from the TSNN report include Atlanta, Georgia, Louisville, Kentucky and Orlando, Florida.  When you scroll through the list though, you can’t help but notice how many times you see Las Vegas, Nevada; especially when you get into the top shows for the year.

Trying to decide what trade show to go to?  Definitely check out this list and consider the location of the show you’re going to attend wisely.  There are great events all over the U.S. and the world, but, if you’re going to get the highest ROI possible from your trade show booth, you’re going to want to go where the attendees go.  For the last 18 years in a row, most of them (and as a result, most of the best shows) have been going to Vegas!
